Dear friends and participants of KONTEC!
​
With our next KONTEC in August of the coming year we will have "accompanied" all political decisions to be made regarding the peaceful use of nuclear technology as a reliable energy source for our economic and private future. Thus, a leading fair of nuclear technology is approaching, which we have never experienced in this way in the past since 1993 - let us be excited and positive about what we still have to expect here!

KONTEC was and remains the decisive leading fair in Germany for such a discussion and will certainly remain so for quite a while; after all, the main topics of nuclear waste management in Germany and also in our neighboring countries are far from being concluded! Against this background, we are all - exhibitors, speakers, visitors and also the program committee - on a (hopefully) new and positive path with the now created, possibly new situation of nuclear technology in Germany!

As in previous years, we in the Program Committee have retained the already familiar and established concept for the coming meeting. The three main topics will be retained, as will the platforms for the federal ministries and universities accompanying us.
We are looking forward to your suggestions to put together an interesting and diversified program for KONTEC 2023 with the contributions of your staff.

What platform we offer
With its three subject sections, KONTEC offers the appropriate platform for comprehensive information on all aspects of radioactive waste management, in which the status report of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research "BMBF" on the research projects under the title "Decommissioning and dismantling of nuclear facilities" is also embedded.
Format of the plenary lectures
You will present the plenary lecture in front of a large specialist audience in the large hall of the ICD in Dresden.
A total time frame of 20 including approx. 5 - 10 minutes for discussion time is provided for the plenary lectures.
Plenary lectures will be simultaneously translated DE/EN and EN/DE.

Note: After acceptance of the plenary presentation, we kindly ask you to submit the full paper version of your KONTEC 2023 presentation (in German or English). The full papers will be made available to the participants via password-protected access.
For the better understanding of KONTEC participants speaking foreign languages, the presentation slides in English will be requested for KONTEC 2023, as for the previous events. The plenary lecture can still be held in German, simultaneous translation will be provided.
Format of KONTEC DIREKT
Short lectures in words & pictures
KONTEC DIREKT offers the possibility of an in- depth and specific presentation of a topic in a moderated short lecture.
Each KONTEC DIREKT short presentation will be presented twice by you during KONTEC.
The speakers selected for the KONTEC DIREKT short presentations in words and pictures have a total time frame of 15 minutes.
Simultaneous translation of the KONTEC DIREKT short presentations is not planned.

Format of the poster presentations
Posters are presented in poster forums that can be determined by the participants themselves. A double-walled poster wall (2 x DIN A0 posters) is available to you for the entire duration of the event.

Information
Please use the abstract management system to submit your presentation. The presentation registration can only be submitted digitally together with a short description (abstract). Registrations/submissions of a technical paper sent in any other way cannot be considered.

Type of paper
When submitting your contribution, please indicate whether you are aiming for a plenary lecture, a poster or a KONTEC DIRECT. During the process of compiling the KONTEC 2023 conference programme, the respective acceptance and placement of your submission will be decided by the programme committee.

Short description vs. presentation
The short description you have to submit in the first step will be used by the programme committee to select and compile the presentations.
The short descriptions should contain a maximum of 2,500 characters (incl. spaces). They give you the opportunity to present to the programme committee the main content, methodology as well as the results and main conclusions you intend to cover in your presentation. You have the possibility to upload photos.
Presentation: At the same time, it will later give the audience an overview of the topics covered in your presentation.
The talk itself must be made available at a later date and in the form of the talk to be presented. So as a presentation or poster (ppt or pdf format) as it will be presented at KONTEC by you as a speaker.
Language
For the selection procedure by the programme committee, the abstract can be submitted in German or English. The presentation in English is preferred.

Topic group
Please classify your presentation into one of the listed topic groups (sections).
​
Speaker and participants
The personal details must be those of the presenter. Other participants and/or a second presenter should also be included. All relevant information, such as notifications to authors about acceptance of the presentation, will be sent to the contact details provided.

After the selection of the abstracts
After acceptance of the plenary paper, we kindly ask you to submit the full paper version of your KONTEC 2023 presentation (in German or English). The full papers will be made available to the participants via password-protected access.

Conditions of participation
With the acceptance of the presentation at KONTEC 2023 the copyright is transferred to Kontec Gesellschaft für technische Kommunikation mbH (Kontec GmbH).

With the acceptance of a presentation at one of our trade events, the speaker grants KONTEC GmbH the rights to use the presentation free of charge. In addition to the right of advance printing, reprinting and translation into other languages, these include all usual online and offline or print, reproduction and distribution rights, in particular publication in the online programme.
​
The Presentation Submitter warrants and represents that its submitted contribution is free from third party proprietary rights and that publication by KONTEC GmbH will not infringe any proprietary rights, patent rights, licensing rights, trademark rights or other proprietary rights of third parties. The submitter of the presentation shall indemnify KONTEC GmbH and its partners and contractors against claims by third parties arising from any infringement of property rights and shall also bear all costs incurred by KONTEC GmbH and its partners and contractors in this connection. In this context KONTEC GmbH and its partners and contractors shall be entitled to obtain permission for the publication of the relevant content from the entitled party at the expense of the person submitting the presentation.

Acceptance of the presentation does not release from the registration for the conference and the payment of the participation fee.*
​
*The participation fees include the full-day participation including all lectures & special events within KONTEC on all three days from 30.08.-01.09.2023 and are expected to be € 1,195 net in Early Bird (normal price € 1,295 net). Advance ticket sales will start in spring 2023.
